You have to be patient.
Results will not happen overnight. It can take 1 month, 4 months, 8 months and even longer.
It will very much depend on your goal and where you are currently, both physically and mentally, in relation to it. You cannot expect to go from zero to 60 in a short space of time.
Life is about living. Being consistent is important but being patient is more so. Sometimes we go off track and that is Normal! We just need to get right back on it and go from there. We must normalise having days when you eat a little more, or move a little less, or don't feel well or something comes up at work.
This is why I emphasise patience. If you feel that you need to be 100% consistent then you leave yourself no margin of error and in life, that is just too much to ask! Why would you place such undue pressure on yourself? It's not healthy.
Key things to take away:
- Focus on activities and movements you enjoy.
- Move your body every day.
- Eat the rainbow and do not overly restrict yourself.
- Take pride in the small wins you achieve daily and weekly.
